KCDC Awarded $250,000 Workforce Development Grant

The Knox County Development Corporation in partnership with Sullivan County and the City of Princeton, has been awarded a $250,000 workforce development grant. KCDC Executive Director Kent Utt says the funding will provide training for workers in the areas of heavy equipment operation and industrial maintenance. Vincennes University will provide the training. Utt says they will be able to assist 50 unemployed or displaced workers obtain training and certifications at no cost and will provide a labor pool for local industries. Utt says more details will be available soon for prospective candidates and industries looking to hire these candidates once they’ve completed their training. The grant comes from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
