K-C-A-R-C recently announced plans to renovate its plant on Old Bruceville Road and turn it into a job skills center for its clients. Speaking on WVUT’s 22-Magazine, K-C-A-R-C President Mike Carney says the center will work with those special needs clients in developing the people skills they need to function in a working environment.

Carney added that part of the training will be technology driven. He says Old National Bank donated 60 computers to assist KCARC with that aspect of the job training.

Carney says they are currently seeking financing to pay for the remodeling work. The K-C-A-R-C Board of Directors has pledged a significant amount of money towards the remodeling of the building, but he added they are seeking additional pledges of funding and fixtures to equip the training center.
