Lois Lorene Herrin

Lois Lorene Herrin 91, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the United Methodist Village North Campus. She was born August 22, 1924 in Bridgeport, Illinois the daughter of Willis Raymond and Helen Edna (Quick) Herrin.

Lois was a lifelong Lawrence County Resident. She was a 1942 graduate of Bridgeport Township High School. She worked for State Senator R.M. Shaw. She then worked for Walker Henry, Attorney for 20 years, and Allen Large, Attorney for three years. She also worked at the First United Methodist Church for eight years. She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Lawrenceville. She taught Sunday school for 30 years and choir director for ten years. She volunteered at the Sign of the Kingdom East in Lawrenceville. She delivered meals for the Lawrenceville Senior Citizens, and worked in the United Methodist Village gift shop.

Lois is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Raymond and Robert and a sister Helen Kelsey.

Graveside services will be Tuesday December 01, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at the Sumner City Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday morning 10:00 am till 10:45am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Burial will be in the Sumner City Cemetery.
