There’s still time to pledge money towards this year United Way of Knox County Campaign. Co-Chair Kaleena McCormick says included in this year’s fund-raising goal is money to obtain a matching grant that will pay for tudors at all three public schools in the county.

McCormick says the tudors will assist those students at the elementary level who’ve been identified as being at-risk of falling behind in the classroom.

McCormick says there is a video which was produced locally that can be viewed online by going to YouTube and searching for “United Way of Knox County Education” which explains the program in greater detail.

In order to qualify for the Lilly Foundation grant, McCormick says any new or increased donations of 100-dollars or more will be applied towards the matching grant. She says they need to raise 40-thousand dollars, so far they’ve obtained about 40-percent of their goal or just under 16-thousand dollars.
