Mildred Jean Johnson Memering, 90, of Vincennes, passed away at 2:28 am Wednesday November 18, 2015 at BridgePointe Health Campus.
She was born December 26, 1924 in Vincennes to James E. and Merle (Brown) Johnson.
Mildred was a member of the St. John the Baptist Cathedral Church and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1942. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Joe Memering & Son’s Bulldozer Services. Mildred enjoyed many needle-crafts, especially quilting. She quilted with the St. John’s Quilt Ladies, and also enjoyed reading and working jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include four children; Susan J. McClure and her husband, K. Michael, Steven J. Memering, and James H. Memering and his companion Susie Patrick, all of Vincennes, and Douglas W. Memering and his wife Lori (Holscher) Memering of Columbus, IN; five grandchildren, Brian McClure and his wife  JaLyn, Jennifer McClure Wilson and her husband Allen, Alex Memering,  Spenser Memering, and Mattias Memering; two great granddaughters, Jenesis and Jurnee McClure; and three step great granddaughters, Lexie Lilliam and Rebekah Wilson.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, F. Joe Memering when he returned from WWII on February 26, 1946; two brothers, Paul Johnson and Donald Johnson; and one granddaughter, Mary Isis Memering.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Saturday, November 21, 2015 at St. John’s Catholic Church with Celebrant David Fleck. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
