Another civil lawsuit has been filed stemming in connection an accident on I-69 in Gibson County that resulted in the death of two people and injured nearly two dozen Haitian immigrants.

The Princeton Daily Clarion reports the lawsuit was filed on behalf of 36-year-old Marianie Sanon. The lawsuit names Ameriqual Group and ServiceXpress as co-defendants in addition to the owner of the van, Robert Allen of Washington.

Sanon, was among the passengers injured in the crash back on September 24th. She is seeking compensation for medical expenses, loss of income and punitive damages.

The lawsuit also contains numerous allegations that Ameriqual and Service Xpress put profit over the safety of the van’s passengers.

Allen’s son, James Allen, faces nearly two dozen criminal charges — many of which are felonies — in connection with the fatal crash. Investigators claim Allen was under the influence of marijuana at the time of the crash, according to the probable cause affidavit.

No hearing date has yet been scheduled in the civil cases.
