Members of the Knox County Development Corporation are still considering construction of a shell building in the U.S. 41 Industrial Park. KCDC Executive Director Kent Utt says its something that prospective companies often look at when considering a site for their business.

.

KCDC recently acquired additional land adjacent to the Industrial Park giving them a total of 135 acres to market. Working with the Office of Rural and Community Affairs, Utt says they were able to obtain Shovel Ready status for the site which means its ready for immediate development with access to all necessary water and utility hookups. Utt says the state awarded KCDC Gold Status which is the highest rating a site can achieve. Prospective businesses can obtain more information online through the state’s website or KCDC’s own site.
