Farbest Foods Incorporated sponsored this month’s Knox County Chamber Bandwagon Luncheon event Wednesday.
Farbest Foods is one of the nation’s largest turkey companies, and they employ more than 400 people here in Knox County.
According to President of Farbest Food Ted Seger, the company holds themselves to the highest standards possible.
Avian Influenza has caused the poultry industry to take a hard hit, however President Seger wants to remind the public that Avian Influenza is a bird diseases and not a human one.
He says they have taken steps to make sure their poultry is not infected.
Seger went on to say although there is a shortage of turkey in the industry, people don’t have to worry about not being able to find it in the store.
There will still be plenty of turkey to go around this holiday season.
