French students involved in Vincennes Lincoln High School’s foreign exchange program were made honorary citizens of Vincennes at last night’s city council meeting.

Each student was presented with a certificate saying they were an honorary citizen and with a pin with the city’s official seal. Several of the foreign exchange students thanked the community as well as their host families for welcoming them with open arms. They also thanked their teachers for making the program possible.

Vincennes Police Officer Julian Moxon was presented the Life Saving Award at last night’s Board of Public Works and Safety Meeting at Vincennes City Hall.

Moxon who is a new officer was formerly a life guard at Rainbow Beach Aquatics Center. When he saw a young child under a year old was choking,  he did the Heimlich Maneuver to save the young child’s life. Mayor Joe Yochum along with several police officials recognized the young officer’s efforts in presenting him the award.
