Thomas Lee Williams, 80, of Vincennes, passed away at 10:09 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Tom was born on Jan. 6, 1935 in Washington, the son of Richard H. and Hettie Marie (Richardson) Williams. He married Carolyn Sue Burt on Aug. 6, 1955 and she preceded him in death on Sept. 2, 1996. Tom was of the Catholic Faith and a member of the VFW and American Legion. He also was an automobile mechanic for the Ford dealership for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Army with the 474th Signal Aviation Construction Co. during the Korean War. Tom was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, and loved NASCAR and playing cards.

Survivors include his daughters, Debra Baxter and her husband, Joe of Vincennes, Denise Owens and her husband, Dennis of Evansville, Dawn Williams and Trina of Evansville, Darla Szink and her husband, John of Vincennes, Doreen Beckes and her husband, Hap of Sullivan; son, Tom Williams and his wife, Gloria of Vincennes; sisters Julia Booth of Vincennes and Margaret Bingham of Corydon; a brother, Daniel Williams of Indianapolis; grandchildren Dion Smith, Jillian Smith, Joseph Baxter, Brandon Williams, Derek Williams and his wife, Mindy, Justin Williams, Jeffrey Stanley, Timothy Stanley and Jennifer Stanley; great-grandchildren William and Evertt Daggett; and his furry amigos, Bailey, Gracie, Banditt, Becktt and Cooper.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carolyn; brothers George Williams and John Williams; and sisters, Rose Clark, Dorothy Williams and Tilly Lett.

There will be a private service and burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Tom’s family from 4-7 p.m. on Friday at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice.
