Helping His Hands Disaster Response arrived in Columbia, South Carolina this week with disaster relief supplies for victims of flooding that occurred earlier this month.

Director Scott Shipman says the devastation is worse than you can imagine.

Shipman says along with a couple of semis out of Indianapolis, Helping His Hands delivered over 120-thousand tons of food, water, cleaning supplies and personal hygiene items that were distributed to flood victims.

Shipman says they are planning a return trip to South Carolina in the future. Persons wishing to make a donation to assist in the relief efforts can do so online at helpinghishands.dot.com.

19 people have died as a result of the flooding in South Carolina. Officials say at least 40-thousand South Carolina residents are without water and another 26-thousand remain without power.
