Verle E. “Butch” Davison

Verle E. “Butch” Davison, 77, of 1534 Kimmel Road, Vincennes, went to be with his Savior on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 9:35 pm after complications from a fall.

Butch was born on March 19, 1938 in Vincennes to Roy Edgar and Margaret F. (Dillion) Davison.

He retired from Texaco Refinery which was later known as Indian Refinery and served in the United States Army.  A member of the First Baptist Church, he had served as a Deacon, was active in the Men’s Prayer Breakfast, and was a mentor for Kid’s Hope U.S.A.  Butch enjoyed hunting, fishing, IU basketball, and Lincoln High School sports. In his younger days he enjoyed camping, watching and coaching his sons in sports.

Surviving is his wife, Judy (Seibel) Davison, whom he married April 10, 1976; two sons, Patrick (Elizabeth) Davison and Dan Davison, both of Vincennes; his brother, Virgil Davison of Vincennes; his sister, Jackie Webber of Vincennes; and his grandchildren, Brittany Davison, Bradley Davison, and Cathlene Warren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brothers and sisters, Wilma Meyers, Loretta Moyes, Maxine Baxley, twin brother, Merle Davison, Albert Davison, Ralph “Doc” Davison, Zerilda Davison, Adabelle Shoulders, and Orval Davison.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday October 12, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Walthall and Robin Overbey officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
