Don B. Waggoner, age 81, of Lawrenceville, IL, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville. He was born February 20, 1934, in Lawrenceville, the son of John E. and Opal (Bye) Waggoner. He married Linda Main on November 14, 1953, and she survives.

Don worked as a master craftsman and chemist at Texaco for 40+ years until his retirement. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville.

Don served as a board member of Modern Woodsman; Past President/Treasurer of Senior Citizens; board member of Lawrence County Housing Authority; past County Board member; 16 years on the Lawrence Township Library Board; organizer of Old Timer’s Dinner for former Texaco employees; former Boy Scout Master with the Lawrenceville Boy Scouts; and consultant for Chevron on the Texaco reclamation.

Preceding Don in death were his parents; a son, Jeffery B. Waggoner, a brother, Tom Waggoner, and one grandson Reid B. Meinschein.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Linda, of Lawrenceville; a daughter, Roxana (James) Schultz of Lawrenceville; a sister, Anne Wagner of Sugar Land, TX, and one grandson, Warren G. Meinschein of Tampa, FL.

Friends may call Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.

Family graveside memorial services will be conducted at Lawrenceville City Cemetery on Tuesday morning.

Memorials may be made to Lawrence County Senior Citizens or First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville.
