The Vincennes City Council is expected to have first reading of an ordinance that would encourage future administrations to consider adding sidewalks and bicycle lanes to any new road projects.

The Complete Streets ordinance is being proposed by Mayor Joe Yochum. It’s expected the ordinance will be approved on first reading and referred to the council’s Public Health and Safety Committee.

Also on the Council’s agenda for tonight is approval of both the Mayor’s salary ordinance and elected officials salary ordinance. Council is also expected to set the appropriations and tax rate for 2016.
