The van’s tires had “dry rot” according to police….

The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the second victim of a deadly accident in Gibson County.

The chief deputy coroner says 19-year-old Christela Georges was from Washington,Indiana and Haiti.

Authorities say Georges was 24 weeks pregnant. Her baby was delivered Friday morning and is in serious but stable condition.

The other victim has been identified by the Gibson County Coroner as 60-year-old Gena Moise of Washington, Indiana. Authorities say she was also from Haiti.

The accident happened Thursday afternoon near the Mackey and Ft. Branch exit on I-69.

State Police Spokesman Todd Ringle says one of the back tires on a 16 passenger van blew. There were 24 people in the van at the time of the accident.

Ringle indicated several of the tires had dry rot.

Ringle added that the seats in van, with the exception of the driver and front passenger seats, had been replaced with wooden benches.

He says there were not enough seat belts for 24 people. Ringle says the belts that were in the van were lap belts and they weren’t being worn correctly because of the benches.
