Commissioners delay action concerning dirt bike track

The Knox County Commissioners have delayed action on a petition which would allow a dirt bike track to operate on Prullage Road.

The County’s area plan commission voted last month to deny the request for a development of broad significance.

Commission members cited complaints from adjoining neighbors about noise and dust created by the bikes running at the home of Ryan and Tracy Snider.

The A-P-C’s  ruling met with opposition from the Sniders and patrons who use the track.

Tracy Snider argued before the commissioners that they’ve tried to be good neighbors and taken steps to reduce noise and dust.

Neighbors attending the meeting say that’s not true.

Commission President Larry Holscher made a motion to delay action on the A-P-C’s recommendation until next month. That will give the attorney representing the Sniders to work with A-P-C and other neighbors to see if any common ground can be reached.
