Library and county officials touring Kemper building today

local-government-2

The Knox County Public Library Board, the Knox County Commissioners and County Council will conduct a tour and public meeting this morning at 10am at the Kemper Building on North Sixth Street in Vincennes.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the possibility of using the building for county purposes. Tommy Kleckner, Director, Indiana Landmarks’ Western Regional Office, will lead the tour and provide input on the viability of using the building for county purposes.

An open discussion by all groups involved will be held in the lower level of the Kemper Building following the tour.

The library has discussed wanting to acquire the building but doesn’t have the money to purchase the building. It’s currently listed for sale for 279-thousand dollars.
