Good Samaritan Hospital will be hosting the Great Strides Walk this sunday to raise money and awareness about cystic fibrosis.
The event will be held at Vincennes University’s outdoor track with registration starting at 12:30 at the Don Bell Student Recreation Center.
Event chair and G-S-H respiratory therapist Ttammy Howell says cystic fibrosis is a life-threatening disease which affects the lungs and digestive system.
Howell said it was one of her patients that inspired her to organize the local event which is now it’s 4th year.
Howell says the walk is a fun, family-oriented celebration that includes a 5-k walk, food, live music and a silent auction.
