8th District Congressman Larry Bucshon joined House Republicans Friday in opposing the Iran Nuclear Agreement. Bucshon says the deal negotiated by President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry doesn’t make the world any safer and paves the way for a nuclear Iran.

Bucshon says the deal weakens sanctions put in place by the U.S. in 2012 and releases funds which Republicans say will allow Iran to continue fund terrorism world wide.

Democrats in the Senate voted to uphold the accord with Iran, overcoming heavy GOP opposition to hand Obama a victory on his top foreign policy priority.

They argue that the agreement would stabilize the Middle East, stop Iran from rushing to develop a nuclear bomb and offer a chance to end the standoff with Iran diplomatically, while retaining a U.S. threat of military action
