Vincennes firefighters responded to a structure fire at 210 McKenney Avenue shortly before 5:30 this morning.
Battalion Chief David Halter says flames were visible coming from a window inside the house.
Halter says there was one occupant inside the home….

Halter could not divulge the name of the homeowner pending notification of family members.
Firefighters were still on remained on the scene for over three hours extinquishing hot spots and ventilating smoke from the home.
Halter says the origin of the fire is unknown at this time. He says they’ve requested an investigator from the State Fire Marshal’s to assist them in determining the cause of the fire.
The house itself sustained substantial fire and smoke damage.
