Knox County Coroner resigns

Knox County Coroner Gordon Becher has announced that he’s resigining to accept a new position within the Department of Homeland Security. Becher will be working in the State Fire Marshal’s office code enforcement division.

His last day as coroner will be September 25th. In a press release, Becher stated it has been a pleasure to serve the citizens of Knox County for over 10 and a-half years as coroner. He indicated that he’s looking forward to his new career, that will give him the opportunity to continue to promote fire safety, at both the state and local level.

A 27-year veteran with the Vincennes Fire Department, Becher had served as Chief since January 2012 until retiring in May.
