A good crowd was on hand for Thursday’s Knox County United Way Campaign Kickoff

The United Way of Knox County kicked off their annual fund raising campaign last night (Thursday at the Knox County Public Library.

A collaborative effort between the Indiana Association and Lilly endowment affords the United Way the opportunity to match up to $40,000 in new and increased donations. The goal for the campaign was announced as $315,000 and all of the money raised is given to the early education initiative. The early education initiative’s mission is to research, recognize, and bridge funding gaps in early education. The campaign is off to a great start as three groups combined to donate $21,500.

United Way of Knox County Executive Director Angie Goff was thrilled with the turnout. Goff believes education is the biggest return on investment that we can do as a community.

The threshold giving amount for a new donor is $100 which will be matched dollar for dollar. If you are interested in donating to help the United Way’s early education initiative, please call Angie Goff at 882-3624.
