Harley C. Brown, age 87 of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, Indiana. He was born March 07, 1928 in Lawrence County, Illinois the son of Harley Pearl and Nannie Elizabeth Miller Brown. He married Wilma Green Brown on September 11, 1949.
Harley worked for the Texaco Refinery for 32 years and the Lawrence Co. Health Department for 24 years in environmental health. He was a member of the Allison Prairie Church of the Brethren and AFL CIO.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include: two daughters, Vicki and husband David Biggs of Lafayette, Indiana, Lisa Hawkins of Lawrenceville, Illinois. Five grandchildren: Jon (Lisa) Biggs, Brent (Megan) Biggs, Jaime (Jeremy) Turner, Lindsey (Marvin) Susott, Dane Hawkins; great-grandchildren: Grace Elizabeth Biggs, and Joshua Dane Susott, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 11:30 a.m. at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Tuesday 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 11:30a.m.Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society.
