LIBRARY YOUTH DEPARTMENT

The doors are about to open for the long awaited Knox County Public Library youth department. The newly renovated space will have books being moved onto the shelves by the end of the month. The library is expecting the youth department to officially open the first week of September. After the youth department moves floors into the renovated area, there are plans to turn the old room in the basement into a teen space. Library Director Emily Bunyan has some big ideas for the teen department.

There will also be opportunities for book discussions and for young adults to be on a council to decide which programs and services they want from the library. Bunyan is hoping the teen department will be open by next

The Knox County Public Library is partnering with the United Way of Knox County for a campaign kick- off. The celebration will be held Thursday, August 27th from 5 to 7 PM at the Knox County Public Library. The public is invited to attend and prizes will be given away. Library Director Emily Bunyan explains what is in store for the attendees of the celebration.
