Vincennes University will hold a groundbreaking ceremony tomorrow morning at 10:30 for its new Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Center.

The Indiana General Assembly approved $27 million for the Center in the biennium budget that was adopted in April. The 80,000 square-foot Center will feature modern instructional spaces including large, adaptable laboratories, lecture halls, and collaborative working environments ideal for group projects.

VU President Emeritus Dick Helton, who retired on July 31, will return to campus to make remarks about the new facility.

The building site is located on Chestnut Street across from the Technology Building.

VU Officials have also promised a surprise announcement in support of the project.

The public is invited to attend the groundbreaking.
