The Hillcrest Dog Park is still undergoing renovations, but should be completed in the near future. The park, located on North Hillcrest Road, is looking to put up the dog fences soon. The fences will be constructed after the water lines are located and marked and a hydrant is installed for the dogs.
Rama Sobhani, Knox County Parks Superintendent, says the animal shelter will play a huge administrative role for the dog park by keeping tracks of memberships and registrations.
The parks department expects the dog park to be open no later than September.
