Vincennes Firefighters responded to a call of an apartment fire at 617 N. 7th Street around 6:30 this morning. Fire Chief Sonny Pinkstaff says an off-duty Vincennes Police officer was the first to arrive on the scene….
Pinkstaff says the fire was located in a unit located at the back of the two story structure. He says the fire was contained to the apartment unit. Pinkstaff says the owner of the apartment was not at home when the fire occurred. There no injuries. The building is owned by Jerry Coonrod.
Pinkstaff says an investigator from the state fire Marshal’s office has been called in to assist in determining a cause for the fire.
