Summer rains have affected Rainbow Beach attendance

This summer’s unusually rainy weather hasn’t affected just crops, it has also hurt attendance at Rainbow Beach Family Acquatic Center. The rain and storms have caused the swimming pool to close early five days and completely shut down another four. The pool has averaged around 300 swimmers per day. Vincennes Parks Superintendent Steve Beaman says bad weather is to be expected every summer and you just have to make the best of it.

Despite the rainy weather, Beaman says the pool will continue to operate on schedule everyday until August 2nd, and then remain open only on the weekends til Labor Day.
