Teachers will soon receive more assistance to help them receive CNC training and certification through Vincennes University.

Beginning August 1st teachers receiving training at the VU Haas Technical Education Center will receive a $1,000 scholarship per training class to offset costs of attendance. Previously, teachers received $675.

The class pulls together key CNC elements – programming, machine interface, operation, setup – all in three days per class.

Doug Bowman, HTEC Director at V-U says they appreciate the increased financial support for teachers from the Gene Haas Foundation. Bowman says that Haas is a tremendous asset to American Manufacturing and hopes it will lead to more teachers receiving training and certification so they can provide more comprehensive instruction for their students.
