Glenn H. Mahrenholz age 94, of Rural Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Saturday, June 06, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born October 01, 1920 in Lawrence County, Illinois the son of Herman and Marie (Swab) Mahrenholz. He married Grace Fortner on November 02, 1941 where they shared 73 years of marriage together.

Glenn was a farmer. He served his country as a World War II Army veteran HMFA 517. He was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Lawrenceville VFW and the Vincennes American Legion, and Elks 1208. He was very active in the Lawrence County 4-H. He was instrumental in securing the site and buildings of the 4-h’s current location.

Preceding Glenn in death were his parents, three sons: James, Doug, Stephen; two grandsons: Bradley, J.D., one great grandson Jesse, one great-granddaughter Kiersten and two brothers Herbert and Alvin.

Survivors include his wife Grace, one son Gene and wife Judy Mahrenholz of rural Lawrenceville, daughter-in-law: Marilyn Mahrenholz of rural Lawrenceville, one sister Norma Rose Anthis of Evansville,In. six grandchildren: Lisa Archibald, Jim Mahrenholz, Amy Whitlock, Justin Mahrenholz, Jeremy Mahrenholz and Kristen Hoey, four step-grandchilren: Frank Moyes, Bobby Moyes, Sandi Grove, Janet Robinson, 25 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday morning 10:00 am Illinois time at the St.Paul’s Lutheran Church located at 10th and Broadway St. Vincennes, Indiana. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Illinois time at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Burial will be at the Vincennes Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Paul’s Lutheran church or the Lawrence County 4-H.
