Helping His Hands Disaster Response Team is out in Oklahoma this week assisting victims recover from tornadoes and flooding. Director Scott Shipman was informed that over 2-thousand businesses and homes were destroyed in the area around Norman, Oklahoma over the weekend.

Shipman says they’ve been distributing personal hygiene items, food and even tarps so residents can cover portions of their homes that were damaged by tornadoes.

Shipman says Helping His Hands relies on donations and gifts from others to carry out their Humanitarian efforts.

On Friday, Shipman says they received a call from Parkview Christian Church in Plainville. The church had recently held a packing event for Helping His Hands to help them replenish their emergency supplies. Shipman says they were able to add those items to what they were already taking to Oklahoma.

Another team from Helping His Hands is in Sumner, Illinois this week assisting residents there who sustained damage from weekend storms. .
